Holiday Brunch at Arrowwood |
| December 16, 2007:
Thirty-four Brothers, ladies and friends celebrated a Holiday Brunch
at the Doral Arrowwood Country Club in Purchase, NY. MW Neal I
Bidnick, Grand Master of Masons in the State of New York honored us
with his presence and that of his wife, Joyce. They were joined
by several Grand Line Officers; RW Kurt, Grand Marshal and his wife
Ruth, RW Biagio Valenti, Grand Standard Bearer and RW Alfred Dais, Senior
Grand Deacon and his wife Vita. Our District Deputy Grand Master,
RW Duncan Stalker and his wife Carol was present and it happened to
be Carol's birthday. We all wished her a happy birthday as only
our group can sing. Our host was W\ Wayne Wyatt who had the funniest act of the day. Let me tell you about it... The food is served buffet style and they have a carving table with a variety of great food - Wayne selected the Honey-Roasted turkey to which he added mashed potatoes and covered it all with turkey gravy - unfortunately, the mashed potatoes turned out to be whipped cream. It was not really his fault - the chef had chosen to place the large bowl of whipped cream right next to the turkey gravy. As you view the photos, you will see a large group of children who were delighted by a visit from Santa Claus. I took several photos and asked if Santa would visit with our group. He agreed and I took a lot of photos of Santa with our group in front of the beautiful Christmas Tree. |

| September 14, 2007: AWARDS NIGHT - Bro.
Thomas Mueller receives his Dedicated Service Award (DSA) at Carlos
Restaurant in Yonkers. Twenty-seven Brothers, Ladies and friends
turned out to witness this very special award. It is special because
of all of the Masonic awards that there are in Masonry, this is the
only award that appends the title DSA to the end of the recipients name.
Bro. Thomas Mueller is now referred to as Bro. Thomas Mueller, DSA and
he well deserves the honor.

F&AM: The annual presentation of Education Awards was held in
the American Room at the Grand Lodge building on 23rd Street, NYC.
One of the recipients was Erik C. Vosatka the son of W\
Ronald A. Vosatka
and the grandson of R\W\
Arthur G. Vosatka. The Scottish Rite of the Grand Lodge
of the State of New York presented a check for $1,000.00 to Erik for
his educational accomplishments. Erik is a resident of Palm City, Florida and attends the University of Florida. He has a 4.0 averages, is on the Dean's List and is a member of the National Honor Society. He achieved a perfect score of 800 in the recent nationwide SAT math test. |
| New Rochelle, NY - Aboard the Klondike Princess: There were 23 guests from Huguenot Lodge No. 46 who enjoyed a cruise down the East River to 23rd Street to witness the spectacular Macy's Fireworks display. We left New Rochelle at 5:00pm and returned at midnight. As usual the appetizers and the dinner were delicious with a variety of salads, fruits, vegetables and roast leg of lamb or salmon. Plenty to eat for all and top-shelf liquor to wash it down. The fireworks started at 9:20pm and lasted about 45 minutes. Crowds lined the East River Drive with a slight drizzle to endure. We were comfortable and dry with a fantastic view of the display. |
|
St. John's Day - Utica |
| June 23, 2007 Utica, NY: It appears that our
DDGM, RW Duncan Stalker is a lot more popular then anyone ever imagined.
I have never heard of this ever happening before, but at the investitures
service for the second year, the entire assembly stood, cheered and
applauded when RW Duncan was called up to receive his commission.
Not only that, but as he stood between the Deputy Grand Master and the
Grand Master for the traditional photograph, they reached down and placed
their hand under his arms and lifted him high into the air - the assembled
Grand Lodge Officers went wild! Can't wait to see that picture. The Trustees of Grand Lodge have been very busy in upgrading the 400 acres of the campus. The old Wiley Hall has been torn down and replaced with a new, modern, beautiful building. The grounds have been redone to enable the residents to enjoy fountains, flowers, bushes and new walkways. St. John's day concluded with and outdoor barbeque and a selection of cheese trays, vegetable dips, a large selection of hot food cooked and seasoned to perfection. This was followed by a variety of desserts, ice cream, cookies, cream puffs and petit fours. Wine, fake beer, soda and bottled water was provided as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate. |
|
| RW Nabil "John" Ghazal is soon to become
a grandfather. Vivian gave him a lap robe (AKA "baby blanket")
for the baby. See the pictures elsewhere on this page. RW Ronald Cappello presented a lecture on LSOME to several of our new Brothers. His teaching skills were very much evident as he held the rapt attention of each of the attendees. Brother Michael Grenadier participated in the Question and Answers with W Wayne Wyatt. His response to the questions was flawless. |

Memorial Day Picnic |
| May 27, 2007:
Over 26 people attended the annual Memorial Day Picnic which is held
at the home of W\
Wayne Wyatt, Master of Huguenot Lodge No. 46 F&AM. Besides the
usual hamburgers, hot dogs, corn and salads - the featured offering
was LOBSTER. That's right - each attendee was offered a delicious
two pound lobster. Home made cakes, pies, cookies and assorted
fruits were also on the menu. Bro. Michael Grenadier, of Windy
Farms, donated a beautiful floral arrangement for each of the dinner
tables. Our chef was W\
Dan Correa, salads were made by Rosemarie and her daughter Helena.
Vivian donated the home made cake and cookies. A swimming pool
was set up for the children's use and they sure enjoyed it. Despite
the forecast, the weather proved to be perfect for a picnic. The
photos include a picture of a carving made by R\W\
Phillip Selikoff. In memory of those who gave so much in the service of their country, Huguenot Lodge donated to the American Legion in support of Memorial Day and our veterans. Each attendee received a poppy which was hand-made by these veteran. |
